Existentialism & Nihilism
Reacting against Kantian systematising and the moral inheritance of Christianity, Nietzsche diagnosed the death of God as a cultural catastrophe — the collapse of the foundations of Western values. The existentialist response was to foreground individual will, self-overcoming, and the creation of new meaning.
